Actor Edward Thomas Hardy was born in England on September 15, 1977. Hardy made his cinematic debut in 2001 in Ridley Scott’s Black Hawk Down, following his studies in acting at the Drama Centre London. He starred in the movies Bronson (2008), Warrior (2011), Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), Lawless (2012), This Means War (2012), and Locke (2013) after having supporting parts in Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) and RocknRolla (2008). He played both Kray brothers in Legend and “Mad” Max Rockatansky in Mad Max: Fury Road in 2015. For his performance in The Revenant, he received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Inception (2010), The Dark Knight Rises (2012), and Dunkirk (2017) are the three Christopher Nolan films in which Hardy starred.
Since then, he has played the lead role in Venom (2018) and its two follow-ups. Bill Sikes in the BBC miniseries Oliver Twist (2007), Heathcliff in ITV’s Wuthering Heights (2009), Alfie Solomons in the BBC crime drama series Peaky Blinders (2014–2022), the HBO war miniseries Band of Brothers (2001), and the BBC historical drama miniseries The Virgin Queen (2005) are just a few of Hardy’s television roles. Additionally, he was the creator, co-producer, and lead of the 2017 historical fiction miniseries Taboo.
