S. Thirunavukarasu (born 21 July 1966), also known by his stage name Tirru, is an Indian cinematographer who has produced films throughout India in a variety of languages. In the village of Mullukuruchi, he was born. While attending college and studying physics, he developed an interest in photography. He helped his cousin, a dentist by trade, pursue his love of wildlife photography. In Chennai, he is married to an architect, and together they have two children.
He has previously assisted director of photography P. C. Sreeram. Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam are the three main languages used in Tirru’s films. Together with the director Major Ravi, he co-wrote the screenplay for the Malayalam movie Mission 90 Days. Having filmed more than a thousand television ads in the previous 15 years, he is also well-known for them. He has collaborated with nearly all of India’s top production companies for advertising.
Manjeeradhwani, released in 1998, marked the start of Malayalam cinema. He made his Bollywood debut in the action drama Hey Ram, starring Kamal Hassan, two years after this. His upcoming Telugu project movie is a game changer. He was in Janatha garage, Bharat Ane Nenu, and Acharya.
