T. S. Nagabharana born on January 23, 1953, Talakadu Srinivasaiah Nagabharana, also referred to as T. S. Nagabharana, is an Indian film director who is well-known for being a pioneer of parallel cinema in the Kannada film industry. As a filmmaker, he is unique in that he has worked in both parallel and mainstream cinema.
On January 23, 1953, T S Nagabharana was born in Talakadu, in the Mysuru district of Karnataka. He finished his schooling at a Chamarajpet corporation school. He has served as an administrator for a number of theater repertories, most notably Benaka Theatre Group in Bengaluru and Rangayana in Mysuru. For Doordarshan and other networks, he has produced and directed a lot of serials and other shows. 1942: A Love Story was inspired by his film Mysore Mallige.
For Swades, the central plot of Chigurida Kanasu served as an influence. The film Nagamandala served as Paheli’s inspiration. The plotline of Bajrangi Bhaijaan was inspired by the central plot of Kallarali Hoovagi.
For 20 of the 34 Kannada films he has made in the previous 40 years, he has won accolades from international, national, state, and other organizations. The Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy (KCA), located in Bangalore and run by the Karnataka government (State Film Academy), nominated him to be its chairman. He is currently the Karnataka government’s Chairman of the Kannada Development Authority. In addition to acting, he directed and performed in other plays, including Blood Wedding, Hayavadana, Neegikonda Samsa, Baka, Oedipus, Sattavara Neralu, Krishna Parijata, and Mundena Sakhi Mundena.
