Indian actress Surabhi C. M., better known by her stage name Surabhi Lakshmi, is an actress who works in Malayalam cinema and television. For her portrayal of a middle-aged mother facing hardship in the Malayalam film Minnaminungu, she was awarded the 2016 National Film Award for Best Actress. She rose to fame in the Malayalam comedy television series M80 Moosa, which debuted on Media One TV, playing Pathu.
On November 16, 1986, Lakshmi was born into the family of Andy and Radha. She hails from Kozhikode, Kerala’s Narikkuni. She graduated from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, with a first-class BA in Bharathanatyam. She graduated with an MA in Theatre Arts from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit and an M.Phil in Performing Arts from Mahatma Gandhi University.(5) She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in performing arts at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit as of 2017.
Amrita TV’s reality series “Best Actor” was won by Lakshmi. For her role in the movie Minnaminungu, she was recognized with a National Film Award for Best Actress at the 64th National Film Awards, a Kerala State Film Awards special jury mention, and a Second Best Actress Malayalam Film Critics Award in 2016. She has acted in two TV series and over twenty Malayalam movies.
