Steffen Thum

Biography:

Based in Berlin, Steffen Thum is a German composer for films, television shows, video games, and advertisements. He was born on June 8, 1988. He is well-known for his roles in the independent thriller Warning Shot, the Netflix Original movie iBoy, the Swedish bloodbath, Crawl, Slingshot, Looking Up, and the Netflix Original movie The Old Guard 2. The UK Motion Picture Festival’s Best Original Score award went to his score for the 2020 horror thriller Tribal: Get Out Alive.

Thum worked at Hans Zimmer’s studio, Remote Control Productions, from 2014 to 2020. There, he contributed extra music to video games like Skylanders: Superchargers, TV series like The Crown, His Dark Materials, and Genius, and feature films like Top Gun: Maverick, Black Widow, Bad Boys For Life, and Mission Impossible: Fallout. He was named one of the “Best Scores of 2019 – Composers To Watch” by the Film Music Institute.
