Spencer Tracy was an American actor who was considered one of the greatest performers in the history of Hollywood. His naturalism, depth of emotions and subtle performance earned him a career of almost four decades and made him one of the defining figures in the Golden Era of American cinema. Spencer started his career in the early 1930s and soon gained fame with great roles in movies like Captains Courageous (1937), Boys Town (1938), Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941), Father of the Bride (1950), Bad Day at Black Rock (1955), Inherit the Wind (1960), Judgment at Nuremberg (1961), and Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967).
