Soumya, a Telugu anchor and actress, hails from a Telugu background but was raised in Nagpur, Maharashtra. She is proficient in Telugu, English, Hindi, and Marathi. After relocating to Hyderabad for her education, she pursued her graduation at Aurora College, where she was selected as an anchor for a music channel during her third year. Soumya is married to Suman Chalamcharla.
Her career took off in 2008 when she became a Video Jockey on Maa Music channel. She has acted in 8 to 10 movies and has been a host for various events. Currently, she is part of the comedy serial Gangatho Rambabu on Zee Telugu, for which she received the Best Comedian Actress award. Soumya has also appeared in several short films, including Kanuka and Rave Rave Cheliya. Initially, her Telugu was not fluent during her time at Maa Music, but now she has mastered a blend of Hyderabadi Telugu, incorporating elements of Telugu, Urdu, English, and Hindi. Additionally, she participated in the Super Jodi dance show with actor Venu, although she was eventually eliminated.
Soumya gained prominence through her appearances on Maa TV and the Zee Telugu Comedy Club show. Currently, she is best known for her role in the serial Gangatho Rambabu.
