Smita Tambe is a Marathi and Hindi actress who performs in stage, television, and movies. She got the Maharashtra State Award for Best Actress for her performance in 72 Miles. Maharashtra’s Satara is where Tambe was born. She was raised in Pune before relocating to Mumbai to work in Marathi television and movies. She also studied Marathi Loksahitya and Samaj for her PhD. She starred briefly in Jogwa in 2009, and her first major role was in 72 Miles-Ek Pravas, a Marathi film starring Akshay Kumar. In addition, she is the owner of Ringing Rain, a production company that made Saavat in 2019. She made appearances in the films Panga, Sacred Games (Season 2), and Hawa Badle Hassu. She starred in the Hindi action movie Jawan in 2023.
