Shruti Marathe

Biography:

Indian actress Shruti Marathe is well-known for her roles in Tamil and Marathi television shows and movies. In 2016, Shruti wed actor Gaurav Ghatnekar. She occasionally performs in South Indian films under the names Hema Malini or Shruti Prakash.  She chose to take a sabbatical from starring in Tamil movies in 2012 and focus entirely on the Marathi industry because she found it challenging to perform in those movies because she didn’t speak Tamil well and Marathi was her mother tongue. In order to communicate with individuals and workers on sets, she had engaged a tutor to teach her Tamil, not so she could memorize the dialogue for scenes.

Shruti disclosed in 2019 that she had experienced social media harassment when she first started working in the Marathi film industry, but that the mocking had eventually converted into admiration. In 2010, she wore a bikini for the song “Kathara Kathara” while filming the Tamil movie Guru Sishyan. Despite its dismal performance and unfavorable reviews, the movie was primarily recognized for the song’s bikini scene. She stated that when asked to wear one, she complied without hesitation and claimed not to have given it any thought.
