Shashank Khaitan, an Indian filmmaker, is a versatile talent involved in writing, directing, acting, and producing Hindi films. He is notably associated with Dharma Productions.
His directorial journey began with the romantic comedy “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania,” which was intended to be a story about two con artists but evolved into a tale of a flirtatious Punjabi boy’s romantic involvement with an engaged Punjabi woman. He further directed the romantic drama “Dhadak” in 2018 and contributed to the anthology film “Ajeeb Daastaans” with a segment in 2020.
Not limited to directing, Khaitan expanded his horizons as a producer for Dharma Productions. His first production venture was the comedy “Good Newwz” in 2019, which became one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films that year. He also produced the horror thriller “Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship” in 2020.
In 2021, he directed a segment titled “Majnu” in the Netflix anthology “Ajeeb Daastaans.” Khaitan has been involved in various exciting projects, including “Govinda Naam Mera,” a comedy thriller starring Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani, and Bhumi Pednekar, scheduled for release on 10 June 2022.
