Shahab Ali

Biography:

Shahab Ali, an Indian performer, has graced various platforms including Bollywood films, web series, and stage plays. Born in New Delhi on September 29, 1986, he grew up alongside his brother, Saif Ali, and sister, Syed Saba Ali. Raised by his mother, who ran a home beauty parlor after the passing of his father, a watch repairer, Shahab’s upbringing was grounded in hard work and determination.

Educated at Anglo Arabic School, Delhi, Shahab pursued his undergraduate studies in B.A. at Maharaja Agrasen College. He then furthered his education at Jamia Millia Islamia, University of Delhi, earning a PG Diploma in Mass Media & Creative Writing. During his time at university, Shahab actively participated in stage shows, elevating the college show club Anant to new heights. Following his graduation, he briefly worked as a journalist but yearned to return to the stage, leading him to apply to the prestigious National School of Drama in Delhi. There, he had the opportunity to collaborate with esteemed artists like Mohan Maharishi, Anuradha Kapur, and Abhilash Pillai. He also showcased his talents at the Kingdom of Dreams, India’s premier live entertainment destination.

Shahab Ali’s entry into Bollywood came with his portrayal of Mustafa in the 2018 film “Kedarnath,” starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan. He garnered further acclaim for his role as Salim in the stage play “Mugal-e-Azham,” a Broadway-style musical drama. His standout performance in this role caught the attention of audiences and paved the way for his role as Sajid in the 2019 web series “The Family Man,” alongside lead actor Manoj Bajpayee.
