Shafna Nizam

Biography:

Shafna Nizam is an accomplished Indian actress with a notable presence in Malayalam films and television serials. Her journey in the entertainment industry began as a child artist in Malayalam cinema, debuting with Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala (1998). She ventured into television as the lead in the series “Sundari,” marking her impactful debut on the small screen.

Shafna’s outstanding performance in Sahayathrika earned her the Kerala State Television Award for Best Actress in 2016, establishing her as a prominent figure in the Malayalam television industry.

Her popularity soared among Malayalam audiences through films like Katha Parayumbol and Oru Indian Pranayakatha. Shafna received acclaim for her role in Athmakadha, portraying a school-going youth who, like her father, gradually loses her eyesight. The iconic dialogue “Ayyo acha pokalle” from Chinthavishtayaya Shyamala remains a favorite among Malayali viewers.

Following her marriage, Shafna made a successful foray into Malayalam television with the serial “Sundari,” further elevating her fame. She continues to be an active and influential presence in the Malayalam serial industry.

Born as the second daughter to Nizam and Shahida, Shafna has an elder sister, Shabna, and a younger sister, Shaina. She tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend, Sajin TP, her co-actor in the Malayalam film Plus Two, on 11 December 2013. Sajin gained recognition for his portrayal of Shivaramakrishnan in the TV series Santhwanam.
