Indian poet, screenwriter, and filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy mostly creates films for the Tamil film industry. His acclaimed films include Dharma Durai (2016), Neerparavai (2012), and Thenmerku Paruvakaatru (2010). The 2019 film Kanne Kalaimaane and the 2022 film Maamanithan.
Koodal Nagar was his first film as a filmmaker (2007). His film Thenmerku Paruvakaatru won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil after receiving critical praise. A reviewer stated that “A well-crafted screenplay, clearly defined characters, a smooth, realistic flow of scenes, and fine performances from its entire cast, makes ‘Thenmerku Paruvakaatru’ one of the more watchable films of recent times” .
A critic for his subsequent film Neerparavai (2012) wrote, “Neer Paravai is a beautiful record of the lives of a community, their hopes and dreams, and the harsh reality of their lives.” The film likewise received favorable reviews upon its release. Proceed to view it. Idam Porul Yaeval, Ramasamy’s upcoming film, was delayed in production. Although critics’ opinions of his subsequent film, Dharma Durai (2016), were divided, it was a box office hit.
A reviewer said that “Though Kanne Kalaimaane tries to be an ambitious film, despite much potential for drama, it lacks a strong script that most Seenu Ramasamy films have” in reference to his 2019 follow-up film Kanne Kalaimaane, which opened to mixed reviews.
