Indian actor Saswata Chatterjee was born on December 19, 1970, and is most known for his roles in Bengali television and cinema. He has also acted in Hindi films. He started his career with a Hindi television series based on Samaresh Majumdar’s Kaalpurush, which was directed by Saibal Mitra. He is the son of actor Subhendu Chatterjee. He became well-known for playing Topshe in a Sandip Ray-directed television series set in Feluda.
For his roles in a number of Bengali films, including Meghe Dhaka Tara (2013), in which he portrayed a figure modeled after Ritwik Ghatak, Chatterjee has won praise from critics. His portrayal as contract murderer Bob Biswas in Sujoy Ghosh’s Hindi thriller Kahaani (2012) brought him significant acclaim. On December 19, 1970, Saswata Chatterjee was born to renowned Bengali actor Subhendu Chatterjee. He is married to teacher Mohua Chatterjee and resides in Kolkata. Together, they have a daughter.
