Sanjeev Bhaskar OBE is a British comedian, actor, and television host who was born on October 31, 1963. He is well recognised for his roles as the star of the sitcom The Kumars at No. 42 and in the sketch comedy series Goodness Gracious Me on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Two. Along with presenting and starring in the documentary series India with Sanjeev Bhaskar, he visited his ancestral home in modern-day Pakistan while travelling to India. Dr. Prem Sharma in The Indian Doctor and DI Sunny Khan in Unforgotten are two of Bhaskar’s more serious acting appearances. The University of Sussex appointed Bhaskar as its chancellor in 2009. Bhaskar received his OBE in 2006.
