Samuel M. Raimi, born on October 23, 1959 is a filmmaker from America. His most well-known works are the Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007) and the first three Evil Dead movies (1981–present). In addition, he directed the following films: the Disney fantasy Oz the Great and Powerful (2013), the superhero film Darkman (1990), the neo-noir crime thriller A Simple Plan (1998), the supernatural thriller The Gift (2000), the supernatural horror Drag Me to Hell (2009), the Marvel Studios film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), and the revisionist western The Quick and the Dead (1995).

In 1979, he established Renaissance Pictures, and in 2002, Ghost House Pictures. Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, its spin-off Xena: Warrior Princess, and Ash vs. Evil Dead, which saw longtime friend and partner Bruce Campbell repeating his role in the Evil Dead franchise, are just a few of the popular television shows that Raimi has produced.
