Salim Baig

Biography:

Salim Baig is a film actor known for his work in the Tamil and Telugu film industries, particularly for his collaborations with renowned director Gautham Menon. He gained recognition for his negative role in the 2004 police drama “Gharshana” and also appeared in “Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu” in 2006. He has been approached by many prominent filmmakers for various film projects.

Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Salim Baig completed his studies there and launched his career in the film and media industry. Initially, he started as a model and later transitioned to working as a theater artist.

Salim Baig’s journey into films began after participating in the Mr. Junior Mumbai Competition. Subsequently, he received an opportunity from renowned director Teja to act in a Tamil action movie called “Jai,” which was released in 2004 and received positive feedback.

His introduction to Gautham Menon came through Ravi Varman, the cinematographer of a film, who recommended him to the director. This collaboration led to his role in the police drama “Gharshana” in 2004, where he gained popularity and received acclaim for his performance. From then on, he became widely known by his stage name, Panda.
