Salem Chandrasekharan was an Indian film producer and distributor who passed away on May 10, 2021. Behind Sree Saravana Creations, he produced high-end Tamil films like Ghajini and Sabari.
Chandrasekharan was a distributor and the owner of the ARK Complex, a three-screen theater in Salem, before he started making movies.[4] Sullan (2004) was his first production, and he later had plans to produce Desiya Nedunchaalai, Vetrimaaran’s first feature with Dhanush, but that project was eventually canceled.
Despite Ghajini’s (2005) success, his subsequent endeavors did not do well. He also had to put a stop to the production of Asokamithran, directed by Karu Pazhaniappan and starring Dhanush, due to financial difficulties.
Due to financial difficulties, his last effort, Killadi (2015), was only released nearly ten years after the movie was filmed. Later on, he sold Aascar Ravichandran his theaters. On May 10, 2021, Chandrasekharan passed away from COVID-19.
