American actress Sadie Elizabeth Sink was born on April 16, 2002. Her acting career started in theater, when she portrayed young Elizabeth II in the Broadway historical drama The Audience (2015) and the title character in the musical Annie (2012–14). She debuted on screen in the 2016 biographical sports drama Chuck.
Sink’s role as Max Mayfield in the Netflix science fiction series Stranger Things (2017–present) was her big break, and she won praise from critics for her work in the fourth season. She starred in Taylor Swift’s short film All Too Well and the horror movie trilogy Fear Street in 2021. After that, she starred in The Whale (2022), a psychological drama directed by Darren Aronofsky for which she was nominated for a Critics’ Choice Movie Award. In 2025, Sink made a comeback to Broadway, starring in John Proctor Is the Villain and became the second youngest woman to win a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play.
