Reshmi Menon

Biography:

Menon “loved the media” and enrolled in the Visual Communication department at Women’s Christian College in Chennai in 2008. She went with her friend to the Prakash Raj show Inidhu Inidhu (2010) auditions, where she received an offer for the main role.

She had to miss courses at WCC in order to work on the movie, which she shot while still in school. Several rookies made their acting debuts in Inidhu Inidhu, including Reshmi.

She was back in the part Tamannaah had played in the Telugu film Happy Days, which was remade. Opinions regarding her performance were mixed. She was called a “cute find” by The Hindu, but she “sticks out like a sore thumb” by Sify’s detractors. When he saw the remake, original director Sekhar Kammula claimed he could only see Reshmi and forgot about Tamannaah.

Next, Reshmi starred in Janaki Vishwanathan’s independent film Om Obama. Despite being filmed for 35 days in 2010, the movie has not yet been released.

Her second release, Theneer Viduthi (2011), marked music director S. S. Kumaran’s directorial debut. Together with Adith Arun, Reshmi portrayed a “bubbly and talkative girl” in Inidhu Inidhu.

The movie, which is a rural comedy that takes place in Bodinayakkanur, had mixed reviews. Sify said that Reshmi “settles into her character so comfortably that one believes that she is indeed from Bodinayakanur” because of her performance.

Three years later, she released her next film, Burma, a comedy-thriller. Though some critics thought her role was small, it was generally well received and she gave a great performance.

Urumeen, a fantasy thriller; Kirumi, a “drama with elements of a psychological thriller”; Natpadhigaram 79, a tale of friendship helmed by Ravichandran; and Hyderabad Love Story, her debut Telugu film, are some of her most recent releases.

Actor Bobby Simha and Menon became engaged on November 8, 2015, and on April 22, 2016, they were married. May 2nd, 2017, saw the birth of their daughter. She gave birth to their second child, a son, on November 11, 2019.
