Renganaath Ravee is an Indian documentary filmmaker, sound editor, and sound designer.
Renganaath Ravee is an Indian sound designer and supervising sound editor who is based in Mumbai. He has contributed to documentaries, short films, advertisements, installations, and more than 100 feature films in over eleven languages, including English, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Ladakhi, Marathi, Nepali, Arabic, Portuguese, and Kannada. In 2015, 2017, and 2021, he was the recipient of the Kerala State Film Awards’ Best Sound Designer title.His poetry installation, which combines sound, sculpture, and poetry, is the first of its kind in art history, earning him a spot in the Limca Book of Records. He has provided good interpretations for over ten poems by well-known poets from over the world.
Renganaath began working at K. J. Yesudas Tharangini Records Studios as a sound recordist. In 2006, he relocated to Bollywood to follow his love and found greater prospects. There, he worked as a sound editor with well-known sound designers including Resul Pookutty, P. Balaram, Dwarak Warrier, and Vivek Sachidanand, who had won an Academy Award. He made his Mollywood debut in 2010 as a sound designer for the Lijo Jose Pellissery-directed movie Nayakan.
Renganaath is an interim member of the interview board at the esteemed K. R. Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts in Kottayam, as well as a visiting faculty member at several other prominent film institutions. Renganaath’s debut documentary, “Daveli… a Tale Song,” focused on a dying traditional craft that was well-liked in central Kerala.
