Ravindra Jain was an Indian music composer, songwriter, and playback vocalist who lived from 28 February 1944 until 9 October 2015. He began his career as a composer for several popular films in the early 1970s.
Notable compositions by him include Vivah (2006), Nadiya Ke Paar (1982), Geet Gaata Chal (1975), Chor Machaye Shor (1974), and Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se (1978).
He wrote the music for numerous motion pictures and television programs, including the legendary Ramanand Sagar epic Ramayan (1987). For his contributions to the arts, he received the Padma Shri in 2015, the Republic of India’s fourth-highest civilian honor.
Born blind on February 28, 1944, in Aligarh, Ravindra Jain was the third of seven brothers and one sister to Pandit Indramani and Kiran Jain. He is a member of the Jain faith. His mother was a housewife, and his father was a Sanskrit pandit.
His father sent him to renowned musicians such as G.L. Jain, Janardhan Sharma, and Nathu Ram for formal music study after realizing his talent.
He began singing bhajans at temples when he was quite little. Jain had a son named Aayushmaan with Divya Jain, with whom he was married. On October 9, 2015, he passed away in Mumbai due to multiple organ failure.
