Iman Chakraborty, born on September 13, 1989, is an Indian singer and actress renowned for her exceptional vocal talent. Her musical journey began in Liluah, West Bengal, where she grew up under the tutelage of her late mother, Trishna Chakraborty, fostering a deep love for music and a particular affinity for the literary works of Rabindranath Tagore.

Iman’s entry into the music industry commenced with her debut album ‘Bosh te dio kachhe’ in Bengali, showcasing renditions of Tagore’s compositions. This caught the attention of composer Anupam Roy, who sought to experiment with her unique voice and tonal quality. This collaboration resulted in “Tumi Jaake Bhalobasho,” a Bengali film song from the movie Praktan, marking Iman’s debut in playback singing. This remarkable debut earned her the prestigious National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 2017, a rare achievement for a debut film song in India.

Apart from her award-winning contributions, Iman released the song “Monn” in December 2018. Serving as the title track for the Tollywood album Monn, this duet with singer Sarbajit Ghosh showcased her versatility and continued musical prowess.
