Ranveer Singh is a popular Indian actor known for his work in Bollywood films. He was born on July 6, 1985, in Mumbai, India. Ranveer made his acting debut in 2010 with the film “Band Baaja Baaraat,” which earned him critical acclaim and several awards.
He quickly became one of the most sought-after actors in the industry, known for his versatile performances, high-energy personality, and unique fashion sense. Some of his notable films include “Lootera,” “Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela,” “Bajirao Mastani,” “Padmaavat,” “Gully Boy,” and “Simmba,” among others. He has received numerous awards for his performances, including several Filmfare Awards.
After completing his education at Indiana University Bloomington, Singh entered the world of acting by starring in the lead role of Yash Raj Films’ romantic comedy, Band Baaja Baaraat. This movie proved to be a massive success both critically and commercially, earning him the prestigious Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Subsequently, he received acclaim for his portrayal of a melancholic thief in the drama Lootera (2013) and further solidified his stardom by collaborating with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The first of these collaborations was in the film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013).
Singh’s talent received widespread praise when he took on the roles of Bajirao I and Alauddin Khilji in Bhansali’s period dramas Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Padmaavat (2018), respectively. He garnered the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for the former and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for the latter. Additionally, his action-packed film Simmba (2018), where he portrayed the titular character, became one of the highest-grossing Indian films.
The actor continued to impress with his diverse performances, earning more Best Actor accolades at Filmfare for his roles as an aspiring rapper in the musical drama Gully Boy (2019) and Kapil Dev in the sports film 83 (2021).

The following month, they tied the knot in two ceremonies – a traditional Konkani Hindu ceremony and a Sikh Anand Karaj (Singh’s paternal grandfather was Sikh) – at Lake Como, Italy.
Since 2012, Singh has consistently been included in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list, achieving his highest ranking (seventh) in 2019.
