Biography:

Rajesh Vivek (January 31, 1949 – January 14, 2016) was a versatile Indian actor who left a lasting impact on both Bollywood and the Indian television industry. Born in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, he carved a niche for himself in the entertainment world with his distinctive appearance, impressive acting skills, and a career that spanned several decades.

Vivek gained widespread recognition for his role in the critically acclaimed and Oscar-nominated film “Lagaan” (2001), directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. He portrayed the character Guran, the loyal and spirited water diviner in a drought-stricken village, and his performance in the movie earned him significant praise.

In addition to “Lagaan,” Vivek appeared in various other Bollywood films. His notable roles include “Swades” (2004), in which he played the role of Nivaran, a social worker who leaves a lasting impact on Shah Rukh Khan’s character. He also featured in the iconic film “Shahenshah” (1988) alongside Amitabh Bachchan.

Rajesh Vivek was not confined to the silver screen; he made a mark on Indian television as well. He is particularly remembered for his role as Shakuni Mama in the epic TV series “Mahabharat,” a character known for his cunning and scheming nature.
