Rajesh Madhavan

Biography:

Rajesh Madhavan, a native of Perladukka in the Kasaragod district, was born to K. Madhavan and Ratnavathi. He grew up with his sisters, including Raji and Sreeji. He completed his schooling at Bedadukka Kundamkuzhi School, where his passion for acting began. His involvement with Sunday Theater, a children’s theater in Kuttikol, Kasaragod, helped shape his talent as a theater actor from a young age.

After graduating, he pursued further studies at Amrita College in Kochi. Rajesh started his media career working with channels like Asianet and Amrita before entering the film industry as a production controller in Sajin Babu’s Asthamanam Vare. He also collaborated on a short film titled Knife in the Bar with his friend Ravi Shankar, who later played a pivotal role in introducing him to films. His acting debut came in Aashiq Abu’s Rani Padmini.

Rajesh went on to work closely with filmmakers Aashiq Abu, Dileesh Pothan, and Shyam Pushkaran, contributing as an actor, assistant director, and co-director. He has earned recognition for his acting skills and extensive work as a casting director, including casting for Tinkalarzhcha Nischa, which won second-best film at the Kerala State Film Awards, alongside Vineeth Vasudevan. He also served as an associate director for Dileesh Pothan’s acclaimed film Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyu.

His portrayal of a cyclist boy in Maheshinte Prathikaaram became an internet sensation, inspiring numerous memes. Rajesh continues to take on significant roles in upcoming films such as Kalaham Moolam Kamini Moolam and Minnal Murali.
