Raina S Joshi is an Indian model, actress, and producer who has appeared in a few Bollywood films. She began her career through a variety of commercials and music videos. She was born in Delhi, India. She participated in modeling campaigns for jewelry brands like TBZ and Kit-Kat, as well as beauty brands like Ponds and Garnier. Her first music video, for the song Saiyyan dil me ana re, was never shown on television.
She made appearances in the music videos for several well-known artists, including Pakistani singer Atif Aslam’s Doorie (2006) and Mika Singh’s Something Something (2006). In 2007, she made her Bollywood debut in the thriller Naqaab, starring Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna. Sophia D’Costa Oberoi was the character she portrayed. She received a nomination for Filmfare Best Debut Female for her performance in Naqaab. Following that, she played the role of Nisha in the Telugu film Three (2008).
She portrayed Ziya in the 2009 film Baabarr, and she portrayed Sachin Tichkule’s (the protagonist) sister in the 2010 film Khatta Meetha, starring Akshay Kumar. Following that, she had a cameo in Priyadarshan’s multi-starrer Aakrosh that same year. She made her final screen appearance to date in Chakradhaar, where she played Madira, after two years. She and her spouse, Aishwrya Rai Bachchan, co-produced the 2015 film Jazbaa.
She has also produced the films Mumbai Mirror (2013) and Jackpot (2013). She wed Indian actor, producer, and businessman Sachiin Joshi in February 2012. Joshi has acted in numerous Bollywood and Telugu films. She made the decision to give up acting after getting married and start a new life supporting her husband in his business.
She welcomed their daughter Samaira into the world on January 21, 2014, and subsequently gave birth to another daughter, Parinishta. Additionally, she has taken over the Big Brother Foundation, an NGO, with the express goal of empowering women and improving the lot of impoverished homeless children. This is a non-profit establishment. Raina now successfully manages her home and business.
In an interview, she stated that she changed her name after getting married in order to adhere to local customs and culture. She has not only appeared in films but also on television. She participated in and made it to the finals of the 2008 season of the reality TV program Khatron Ke Khiladi. She portrayed the lead role in the television series in 2016.
