The majority of the films directed by Mahesh Bhatt, including Arth (1982), Aashiqui (1990), and his son Vikram Bhatt, Raaz (2002), were filmed by Pravin Bhatt (Praveen Bhatt), an Indian film cinematographer, director, and screenwriter who worked in Hindi cinema from the 1970s to the 2010s. In addition, he has directed movies like as Agneepath (1990), Masoom (1983), and Umrao Jaan (1981).
His father, Vijay Bhatt, gave him a break as a cinematographer in his next feature film, Himalay Ki Godmein (1965), after he began his career as a cameraman in Maa Baap (1960). He continued to work in his father’s many other films, solidifying his career as a cinematographer. He then shot the majority of Mahesh Bhatt’s films, beginning with Lahu Ke Do Rang (1979), and then his son Vikram Bhatt’s film. Haunted 3D, India’s first horror film, had him as its cinematographer. His 100th film as a cinematographer was Shaapit (2010).
Shabana Azmi and Marc Zuber played the lead roles in Bhavna, Bhatt’s first feature film as director, which took home the Filmfare Best Actress Award for Azmi. Director Vikram Bhatt is his father, and he is the son of producer-director Vijay Bhatt.
