Biography:

Born on October 5, 1997, Poornima Ravi, popularly known as Araathi on her YouTube channel, is an accomplished Indian actress and content creator predominantly active in Tamil cinema. Beginning her journey in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, she attended Shrishti Matriculation Secondary High School before pursuing an engineering degree at Vellore Institute of Technology.

Poornima ventured into the digital realm as a YouTuber, launching her channel “Araathi” on July 2, 2019. Covering diverse topics like the Indian Premier League, women’s rights, and social humor, her channel has amassed over 2 million subscribers and garnered more than 550 million video views.

Director Badri Venkatesh noticed Poornima’s talent, casting her in the supporting role for the romantic-comedy film “Plan Panni Pannanum” in 2021. Continuing her cinematic journey, she played roles in “Chotta” the following year and secured another supporting role in the 2023 film “Annapoorani.”

In addition to her film endeavors, Poornima stepped into the world of reality TV by participating in the 2023 edition of Bigg Boss Tamil on Vijay TV. Notably, she exited the show on day 96 after opting for the Money Box, valued at INR 16 Lakhs. Poornima’s versatility, from YouTube to the silver screen and reality TV, reflects her dynamic presence in the entertainment landscape.
