Indian actress Pooja Devariya is well-known for her roles in Tamil and Kannada motion pictures. She also performs in theater. She had a long career in theater with the Stray Factory following her film debut in Selvaraghavan’s Mayakkam Enna (2012). She went back to the film industry in 2015.
In Selvaraghavan’s Mayakkam Enna (2011), Pooja makes her screen debut as Dhanush’s gang mate Padmini. After that, Pooja became a member of the theater company Stray Factory, with which she collaborated on both live shows and web videos. Notably, in December 2012, she played Zorro in a production of The Three Musketeers. She made her directing debut in 2013 with Naren Weiss’s play Maya from Madurai.
She contributed to the making of four movies in 2015, including Iraivi (Karthik Subbaraj) and Kutramum Thandanaiyum (Manikandan). 2018 saw Pooja make her Kannada film debut with Senna Hegde’s Katheyondu Shuruvagide. She has half Kannadiga ancestry from her mother.
Pooja served as a performance coach for Navarasa, a Netflix anthology, alongside director Bharat Bala. She was the performance coach for Vijay Sethupathi in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s 2022 film Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan, where she paid special attention to his body language. Her relationship with Vijay Sethupathi is longstanding; she is his acting coach for Gandhi Talks, the impending silent film directed by Kishor Pandurang Belekar, and Merry Christmas, the upcoming film starring Sriram Raghavan.
