Peter Sellers

Biography:

Peter Sellers was an actor and comedian known for his versatility, great comic timing, and ability to turn himself into various people. Peter Sellers was born on September 8, 1925, in Southsea, England. The actor began his career in the radio and became famous through BBC comedy show The Goon Show.

Later on, Sellers became well-known thanks to movies like The Ladykillers (1955), I’m All Right Jack (1959), Lolita (1962) and The Pink Panther (1963). The ability to create various accents, voice, as well as physical comedy, made Peter Sellers an extraordinary artist of his time. Sellers was nominated for two Oscars for Best Actor for Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) and Being There (1979). The actor managed to play three different characters in Dr. Strangelove and showed his great ability to perform dramatic roles in Being There as a gardener Chance.

Peter Sellers became also famous for playing the part of Inspector Jacques Clouseau in The Pink Panther series, and for which he was nominated for Golden Globe and BAFTA. Peter Sellers passed away on July 24, 1980, in London at the age of 54.
