American television writer and producer Peter Noah was born in the twentieth century.
Adam Levine, the frontman of Maroon 5, is his nephew; his brother is journalist Timothy Noah. Robert Noah, a producer of television game shows, was his father. He was a regular writer and executive producer on the drama series The West Wing on NBC. For the fifth season, Noah joined the show as a consulting producer and regular writer. Before the season ended, he was elevated to supervising producer. Before taking on the position of executive producer for the seventh and final season, he remained in this capacity for the sixth.
For his work on The West Wing, he and his fellow producers were nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series three times in a row (2004–2006). Additionally, he received a nomination for a Writers Guild of America Award for Television: Dramatic Series in 2006. Noah later served as executive producer for Jimmy Smits, star of The West Wing, in his subsequent television series, Cane.
