Parvathy Jayaram

Biography:

Parvathy, born as Ashwathy Kurup on 7 April 1970, is a former Indian actress, costume designer, and classical dancer known for her work in Malayalam cinema. She began her career in 1986 with the film “Vivahithare Ithile,” introduced by Balachandra Menon. Parvathy gained recognition for her versatile performances in movies like “Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam,” “Thoovanathumbikal,” “Kireedam,” and “Kamaladalam.”

In 1992, Parvathy made a significant decision in her personal life by marrying fellow actor Jayaram, whom she had co-starred with in several films. Following their marriage, she chose to step away from acting to focus on family life. The couple resides in Chennai and has two children, Kalidas Jayaram and Malavika. Kalidas Jayaram, following in the family’s artistic footsteps, won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his role in “Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum” (2003).

Aside from acting, Parvathy explored costume designing for films like “Finger Print,” “Sarkar Dada,” “Madhuchandralekha,” and “My Big Father.” Her diverse talents made her a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
