Paresh Ganatra is an Indian actor with a diverse career spanning television, stage, and film. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Praveen Thakkar in the popular Star Plus comedy series Baa Bahu Aur Baby (2005–2010) and has also appeared in SAB TV’s sitcom Chidiya Ghar. His film credits include notable works like No Entry (2005) and Rowdy Rathore (2012).
Ganatra began his acting journey with Gujarati theatre while still in college, performing in the city from 1984 to 1992. He made his film debut with a role in Mann in 1999 and appeared in TV series such as Ek Mahal Ho Sapnon Ka and various music videos and commercials, including those for Symphony Air Coolers, Tata Phones, and McDonald’s. He gained significant fame with the 2002 film Aankhen.
Following this success, Ganatra continued to make his mark in Bollywood, especially known for his comedic roles in films like Welcome, Money Hai Toh Honey Hai, and Delhi Belly. His role in Rowdy Rathore, alongside Akshay Kumar, was a notable box office hit. He also featured in Bol Bachchan, directed by Rohit Shetty, with a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan.
Born on February 19, 1965, in Mumbai to a Gujarati family, Ganatra completed his schooling at Lions Juhu High School and graduated from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics. He later pursued management studies at Somaiya College in Mumbai.
