Indian actress Neetu Kapoor born Harneet Kaur on July 8, 1958 is well-known for her roles in Hindi movies in the late 1960s, early 1970s, and early 1980s. At Mumbai’s Bandra Bandstand, Kapoor was admitted into the Walk of the Stars, an entertainment hall of fame, in 2012. She has received numerous honors, including two nominations for the Filmfare Award.
Kapoor first appeared in the swashbuckler movie Suraj in 1966. She then had two parts in the romantic comedy Do Kaliyaan in 1968. The vigilante movie Rickshawala (1973) marked the beginning of her shift to more adult parts, and she made her breakthrough as a dancer in Nasir Hussain’s masala film Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973).
The criminal drama Deewaar (1975), the thriller Khel Khel Mein (1975), the musical Kabhi Kabhie (1976), the masala picture Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), and the fantasy film Dharam Veer (1977) were among the films that helped her gain notoriety. In addition to receiving recognition for her roles in the criminal drama Parvarish (1977), the horror film Jaani Dushman (1979), the disaster picture Kaala Patthar (1979), and the musical Yaarana (1981), she was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for Kaala Patthar.
She wed actor Rishi Kapoor in 1980, and the two of them had two kids, one of which is actor Ranbir Kapoor. After starring in the thriller Ganga Meri Maa (1983), she took a break. She returned to the stage with a small part in the romantic comedy Love Aaj Kal (2009), over thirty years later. Since then, she has starred in the action movie Besharam (2013), the comedy film Do Dooni Chaar (2010), which won her a Zee Cine Award, the romantic drama Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012), and Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022), for which she was nominated again for a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.
