Biography:

Indian author Mullapudi Venkata Ramana was born on June 28, 1931, and was well-known for his Telugu-language writings. Mullapudi, who is renowned for his witty and allegorical writing, was awarded six Nandi Awards in addition to the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award by the Andhra Pradesh government in 1986 for his services to Telugu film.

Mullapudi is well-known for having collaborated with Bapu as Bapu–Ramana. The director-writer team would go on to work together on a number of popular films, including Mister Pellam (1995), Bangaru Pichika (1968), Andala Ramudu (1973), Sampoorna Ramayanam (1973), Mutyala Muggu (1975), Pelli Pustakam (1993), and Radha Gopalam (2005). In addition, he writes essays and cartoons. He is most recognised for being the creator of Budugu, a figure that is regarded as a mainstay of Telugu children’s literature.

Mullapudi Venkata Ramana was raised mostly in the small Andhra Pradesh village of Dowleswaram, which is close to Rajahmundry. He was born into a middle-class, traditional family. Mullapudi had a younger brother and one older sister. Up to his father’s death when Mullapudi was nine years old, the family was content and trouble-free. Due to improved chances, they moved to Chennai (formerly known as Madras) when their position was completely flipped upside down. Mrs. Adilakshmi, Mullapudi’s mother, went to great lengths to raise her family in such circumstances. Madras was the location of Mullapudi’s schooling and profession. He had demonstrated a preference for Telugu literature throughout his study days as well as a propensity for crafting succinct, impactful narratives.
