Biography:
Maximiliano Hernández (born September 12, 1973) is an American actor recognized for playing Agent Jasper Sitwell in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and FBI Agent Chris Amador in the first season of The Americans.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Honduran parents, Hernández developed an interest in acting during high school. He briefly studied at City College of New York before starting out in theater and later moving to Los Angeles to pursue film and television roles.
In the early stages of his career, he appeared in shows such as Law & Order, 24, and Numbers, along with films like Hotel for Dogs. He also worked with director Gavin O’Connor in Pride and Glory and Warrior.
Hernández first appeared as Jasper Sitwell in Thor (2011) and returned in The Avengers (2012), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), and Avengers: Endgame (2019). He also played the role in the Marvel short films The Consultant and Item 47, as well as the first season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
In 2013, he joined The Americans as Chris Amador, an FBI agent, reuniting with O’Connor, who directed the pilot. Although his character was written out after nine episodes, his performance was praised for bringing depth and impact to a supporting role.
Two years later, in 2015, Hernández portrayed a corrupt state police officer in Denis Villeneuve’s acclaimed thriller Sicario
