Vivek Agrawal

Biography:

Vivek B. Agrawal is a prominent Indian film producer and director known for his contributions to both Hindi and English-language cinema. His body of work reflects a strong commitment to socially conscious and commercially successful storytelling. Among his most acclaimed productions is Land Gold Women (2011), an English-language feature addressing honor-based violence, which earned the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in English. The film was co-produced through A Richer Lens Entertainment, a production company Agrawal co-founded with his wife, Avantika Hari Agrawal, who also wrote and directed the project.

Agrawal’s production portfolio spans several major Bollywood titles, including Queen (2014), Bombay Velvet (2015), Udta Punjab (2016), Super 30 (2019), 83 (2021), The Girl on the Train (2021), and Vikram Vedha (2022). His influence extends to digital platforms as well, notably as producer of Sacred Games (2018), Netflix’s first Indian Original series, where he oversaw all eight episodes of the first season.

Born on April 3, 1974, in Mumbai to Bajrang and Santosh Agrawal, Vivek developed a passion for filmmaking at the age of 15. He initially pursued academics in accounting and finance management and began a master’s in economics and finance before leaving to start his film career as a production assistant.

Agrawal held a key leadership role at Phantom Films from 2011 to 2019 and later headed production at Reliance Entertainment, where he oversaw the creation of over 30 films and web series. As CEO of A Richer Lens, which operates out of Mumbai, Dubai, and London, he continues to support impactful cinema that crosses cultural boundaries and challenges societal norms.
