The BBC/Kudos Film and Television science fiction series Life on Mars, which debuted on BBC One in 2006 and has garnered widespread critical praise, was co-created by British television writer Matthew Graham.
In 1990, Graham started writing for Streetwise, a children’s ITV adolescent drama about a bicycle courier. He co-wrote all of the episodes for the show’s second and third seasons. After that, he relocated to the BBC to write for EastEnders and other children’s shows, including Byker Grove and The Biz. Graham then devised and scripted the post-apocalyptic drama serial The Last Train for ITV, as well as the popular BBC Two drama series This Life. In addition, he wrote episodes for the 2006 season of Doctor Who called “Fear Her” and Spooks and Hustle.
