Indian filmmaker and author Sameer Vidwans is well-known for his work in Marathi cinema. His film, Anandi Gopal, received both the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues and the Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Director at the 57th Maharashtra State Film Awards. He also won the Filmfare Awards Marathi for Best Director.
In 2023, Vidwans made his Bollywood debut with the romantic drama film Satyaprem Ki Katha, which starred Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani. He first directed the movie Time Please.
