Lata Mangeshkar, born Hema Mangeshkar on September 28, 1929, was a famous Indian singer. She was known as the “Nightingale of India” because of her beautiful voice. She sang songs in many languages, and people loved her singing all across South Asia.
She won many awards for her singing. In 1989, she got the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, and in 2001, she received the Bharat Ratna, the highest award in India. She also got an honor from France in 2007. Lata Mangeshkar sang in over thirty-six languages, mainly in Hindi, Bengali, and Marathi. People admired her singing in movies and concerts.
Three of her famous songs are “Lag Jaa Gale” from the film Woh Kaun Thi, “Tere Bina Zindagi Se” from the film Aandhi, and “Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh” from the film Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai. These songs are loved by many and are still listened to by people who admire her voice and talent
