Garg’s musical versatility spans across Assamese, Bengali, and Hindi film and music industries, while also showcasing proficiency in numerous languages and dialects. Additionally, he is a multi-instrumentalist adept at playing 12 instruments, including guitar, tabla, keyboard, harmonium, and various percussion instruments.
Recognized as Assam’s highest-paid singer, Garg’s contributions have earned him widespread accolades. In 2011, he was honored as the guest artist of the year by the Assam Convention in Oakbrook, Chicago, United States.
His journey in music began early under the guidance of his mother and later under Guru Ramani Rai. Garg’s formal musical education included learning tabla from Pandit Robin Banerjee for 11 years.
Garg’s professional career commenced with his debut Assamese album “Anamika” in November 1992, marking the beginning of his prolific musical journey. He showcased his prowess with subsequent releases such as “Xapunor Xur,” “Junaki Mon,” “Maya,” and “Asha.” His move to Mumbai in 1995 further expanded his artistic endeavors.
