Neha Bhasin, born on November 18, 1982, is an Indian singer and songwriter renowned for her contributions to Bollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood, and independent music, particularly in the genres of Indian pop and Punjabi folk music. Throughout her career, she has received recognition with seven Filmfare nominations across various languages and has won two Filmfare Awards for her songs ‘Jag Ghoomeya’ (Hindi) and ‘Paani Ravi Da’ (Punjabi).
Neha was born in Delhi to Ashok Bhasin and Rekha Bhasin, belonging to a Hindu Punjabi family of the Khukrain Bhasin clan, originally from Rawalpindi District. She has an elder sister named Rashi Bhasin and a younger brother named Anubhav Bhasin. Neha attended Frank Anthony Public School and showed early promise in music, winning her first singing competition at age 9 by performing Mariah Carey’s song ‘Hero.’ From childhood, she aspired to become a pop star and pursued her passion by joining Shiamak Davar’s dance academy to learn various dance forms. She also received vocal classical training from Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan.
