Biography:

Krishna Kumar, born on June 12, 1968, is an Indian actor and politician hailing from Kerala. He is known for his appearances in both Malayalam and Tamil films, as well as television. Prior to his career in entertainment, he had a different trajectory as he was selected to join the Indian Military but later transitioned into a career as a news presenter for Doordarshan and All India Radio. Krishna Kumar is also a BJP national council member representing Kerala in the political arena.

Born in Thiruvananthapuram, Krishna Kumar comes from a family with a military background. He had aspirations to join the Indian Military but took a different path when he was offered a job as a news presenter in Doordarshan. This opportunity came about thanks to a neighbor, a senior official in Doordarshan, who recognized his photogenic face and offered him the role. Krishna Kumar decided to pursue a career in media and embraced the world of television.

Krishna Kumar’s acting journey began when he was a news presenter at Doordarshan. He received his first acting offer from K. Balachander’s son, Kailasam, who cast him in a 13-episode serial produced for DD Malayalam. This marked his acting debut, and he went on to play significant roles in various TV serials and films in both Malayalam and Tamil.

In February 2021, he officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and later contested as the party’s candidate in the 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly election from the Thiruvananthapuram constituency, although he did not win. Nevertheless, he continued his political involvement, being elected as a member to the BJP national council from Kerala in October 2021. Krishna Kumar is married to Sindhu, and they have four daughters, including Malayalam actresses Ahaana Krishna and Ishaani Krishna, as well as Diya Krishna and Hansika Krishna, who are social media influencers. Sindhu runs an advertising agency.
