Biography:
Kevin Spacey is an American film, television and theatre actor and producer as well as the former artistic director. He was born on July 26, 1959 in South Orange, New Jersey. He started his acting career on stage and gained success in films as Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), The Usual Suspects (1995) and Se7en (1995). His portrayal of Roger “Verbal” Kint in The Usual Suspects earned him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, whereas his role in American Beauty (1999) won him the Academy Award for Best Actor. In addition, Spacey was popular as Frank Underwood in political TV series House of Cards (2013–2017).
Spacey had received many accolades throughout his acting career, including two Academy Awards, BAFTA and Tony Award. Besides, Spacey was linked to London’s Old Vic theatre, where he had worked as the artistic director since 2004 until 2015. His career experienced a major setback due to multiple allegations of sexual assault in 2017, which were denied by him. Although he faced criminal charges in the UK for his misconduct, which led to his acquittal in 2023, however, he was ruled not liable in a case in New York in 2022. Nevertheless, Spacey’s performances are noteworthy in the history of modern American cinema and TV series.
