American film producer Kathleen Kennedy was born on June 5, 1953, and has served as Lucasfilm’s president since 2012. In 1981, Kennedy joined Steven Spielberg and her future husband, Frank Marshall, in founding the production business Amblin Entertainment. In 1982, she produced her debut movie, E.T. She produced the Jurassic Park franchise 10 years later, this time with Spielberg. The first two Jurassic Park movies were among the top ten highest-grossing movies of the 1990s. She and Marshall established The Kennedy/Marshall Company in 1992. Kennedy took over as president of Lucasfilm in 2012 following the acquisition of the firm by The Walt Disney firm.
Kennedy served as president of Lucasfilm, where he oversaw the creation, production, and distribution of projects like the Star Wars sequel trilogy (2015–2019), the standalone Star Wars movies Solo (2018) and Rogue One (2016), and the fifth Indiana Jones movie, The Dial of Destiny (2023). The Mandalorian (2019–present), The Book of Boba Fett (2021), Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022), Andor (2022–2025), Ahsoka (2023–present), The Acolyte (2024), and six live-action Star Wars shows have also been developed by her.
