Born in Wanaparthy, Radha Krishnan’s musical journey was influenced by his father, KV Mohan, who was associated with All India Radio since 1973. His father’s passion for music, including light music and stage acting, served as the initial inspiration for Radha Krishnan’s musical pursuits. Under the guidance of Chaganti Lakshmi, Radha Krishnan immersed himself in Hindustani classical music for several years. He later settled in Hyderabad, completing his musical education at Hyderabad Music College and acquiring training as a music teacher. Radha Krishnan also honed his skills in Western classical music under the tutelage of Arnold and delved into Carnatic classical music through his learning from Vengamamba. His extensive musical journey even led him to explore the fusion of Hindustani and other musical forms.
Radha Krishnan’s early aspiration was to become a singer akin to the legendary S. P. Balasubrahmanyam. However, as he delved deeper into music, he realized his inherent talent for composition. This realization marked the beginning of his career as a music composer. He initially ventured into the film industry by providing background music for the film “Silence Please,” directed by Sunil Kumar Reddy. After a brief hiatus, Radha Krishnan received his first opportunity as a music director for the children’s film “Hero.” His journey from singer to music composer underscores his passion for music and his extraordinary ability to craft melodious compositions that continue to enchant audiences in the world of Telugu cinema.
