Jyothi Lakshmi, an Indian actress who starred in over 130 films, was born on November 2, 1948, and passed away on August 9, 2016. She became well-known for her movie songs and leading parts in the early 1970s.
She was a trained dancer and also appeared in films aimed towards women. Her main film credits were in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. As her sister Jayamalini entered the film business in the early 1980s, her fame began to wane.
Her first appearance was as a dancer in the 1963 movie Vanambadi, performing the song “Yaaradi Vanthaar.” Her supporting parts in Periya Edathu Penn and Thedi Vandha Mapillai are what people remember her for the most. Jyothi Meena, her daughter, is an actress as well.
