Indian screenwriter Juhi Chaturvedi was born on February 24, 1975, and primarily writes for Hindi movies. Mumbai-based Chaturvedi works as an advertising professional. She has authored screenplays for Bollywood movies like Vicky Donor (2012), Piku (2015), October (2018), and Gulabo Sitabo (2020).
She received the National Film Award for Best Original Screenplay and Best Dialogues in 2013, the Filmfare Award for Best Story in 2013 for Vicky Donor, and the Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay in 2016 for Piku (2015). Chaturvedi began her career as a freelance illustrator for The Times of India in Lucknow.
In 1996, she moved to Delhi and began working as an art director for Ogilvy & Mather in the advertising industry. She relocated to the agency’s Mumbai office in 1999. She first worked for McCann in 2008, then for Bates in Mumbai, where she served as creative director.
She collaborated with director Shoojit Sircar on commercials for companies including Saffola and Titan watches. In addition, she penned the dialogue for Shoebite, the second movie directed by Amitabh Bachchan, which was eventually canceled.
She used her experience living in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi, to inform the narrative for her debut feature, Vicky Donor For her story Vicky Donor, she won the IRDS Film Award for Social Concern.Her appointment as Executive Creative Director at the Mumbai-based advertising agency Leo Burnett began in July 2013.
