Actor, comedian, and filmmaker Jordan Haworth Peele was born in the United States on February 21, 1979. He is well-known for his humor and horror-themed television and cinema work. Among the many honors he has won are the Academy Award and the Primetime Emmy. After beginning his career in comedy, Peele moved on to write and film comic psychological horror. Peele included on the Time 100 list of the world’s most important people in 2017.
Peele started his improv comedy career in the early 2000s, performing with Boom Chicago and The Second City. He got his big break in 2003 when he was cast in the Fox sketch comedy series Mad TV. He stayed on the show for five seasons before leaving in 2008. In the years that followed, Peele and Keegan-Michael Key, his regular Mad TV partner, developed and starred in their own Comedy Central sketch comedy series, Key & Peele (2012–2015). The show received high praise from critics and took home a Peabody Award and two Primetime Emmys. Following their roles as writers, producers, and stars in the 2016 comedy Keanu, the two have gone on to work on other projects.
